AS Core Teacher Support CD-ROM
This CD-Rom accompanies the Advanced Maths AS Core textbook series reviewed here.
The CD covers the three main exam boards: Edexcel, AQA and OCR.
The CD-ROM contains Word and .pdf files. An outline scheme of work (SoW)for each board is included, this is in Word format so it can be edited and adapted. The headings of the SoW are: Lesson number, Specification reference, Lesson objectives, Textbook resources and CD Resources (the CD accompanies the textbooks).
Core 1 takes up twenty-two lessons and Core 2 seventeen.
The remaining sections on the CD-ROM are .pdf files. The two most useful sections here are the Exam practice questions and the Exercise questions. These both come in two formats – a student version and answer sheets. The student version contains helpful hints and blanks to fill in to help the student reach the solution for the harder questions from the book. The answer sheets provide full worked examples.
Also included are all the graphs from the book, a full set of graphical answers, which are not supplied with the textbooks, and .pdf versions of all the summaries at the end of each chapter.
The licence permits copying of these files for the class and loading onto an institution’s network.
The CD-Rom is well produced and would provide a useful addition to the textbooks – cost permitting.
