Creative Activties: Maths Problem Solving
This book is a valuable resource in any infant classroom. It consists of mathematical problems based around stories and topics you would expect to cover in the foundation stage and key stage one. It covers probability, rules and patterns, diagram problems and visual puzzles and logic. The contexts, problems and objectives are well set out and explained and include attractive photographs. There are extension and further activities, as well as assessment questions and plenary ideas. The activities are adaptable and can be used in alternative contexts.
Although there is a contents page, an index showing which mathematical objectives are being covered would be useful. I have used this book successfully in year one and two would recommend it to any infant teachers.
