ATM Logo Usage Guidelines

ATM Groups and Branches working under the banner of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics are encouraged to use the ATM logo in their documents ,brochures, packaging, and elsewhere. You may not use the logo or its likeness as a company logo or for any other commercial purpose without permission from the ATM, Access to restricted documents and resources by IP Address.

ATM groups and Branches may use the logo in their materials, as long as they don’t make any profit from it and comply with usage guidelines.

The ATM logo is a worldwide trademark of the Association of Teachers of Mathematics, which is responsible for defending against any damaging or confusing uses of the logo. In general, we want the logo to be used as widely as possible to promote ATM and the ATM community.

Derivative versions of the ATM logo are generally prohibited, as they dilute ATM’s brand identity. However, please contact the ATM Marketing committee via email marketing@atm.org.uk if you have any questions.

Logo Guidelines

Display

The ATM logo must always be displayed at a size large enough to read both the logo type. This will vary based on the resolution of the medium it is being used in — but as a general rule the logo should be no smaller than 10mm or 36 pixels in height. It is critical to maintain an open area surrounding the ATM logo so it remains recognisable and does not become lost in other page elements. Clear space is defined relative to the size of the logo, not as a border of a set distance (such as saying ‘12mm’.)

The ATM logo has two elements — a device and a wordmark. These elements must be used together, and may not be separated or altered except in the case of promotional non publication items.

The logo should always remain stand-alone and may not be combined with any other objects, such as other logos, words, graphics, photos, slogans, numbers, design features or symbols. The logo may not be used in any way that might be seen as an endorsement of the products and services of a third party. The logo also may not be used in any way that might suggest that any non-ATM materials, activities or events are sponsored, endorsed or licensed by The Association of Teachers of Mathematics, unless otherwise approved in writing.

Logo Colour

The logo may appear in only three colour choices — black, white or the selected blue. Do not use any other colours in presenting the logo or alter these colour selections in any way — such as incorporating a tint, a fade or other devices.

ATM Blue is Pantone PMS 301

Be careful with using colour profiles on the web in order to maintain accurate colours. Use the files provided below.

Backgrounds

The logo can be used on a black, white or solid colour background. The white background is the preferred choice. When used on a coloured background, it must be used in a colour choice that provides proper contrast.

Logo Device Usage

The ATM logo device may be used separately from the wordmark in the case of event logos, clothing decorations, and branded items intended as giveaways or sale items to promote ATM. This is intended for non-publication use.

Whenever the logo is used in printed publications or in presentations, you should use the complete version consisting of the device and wordmark. The logo can be used on a black, white or solid colour background. The white background is the preferred choice. When used on a coloured background, it must be used in a colour choice that provides proper contrast. Requesting a Variance — if you wish to use the ATM logo device in a way that does not comply with these guidelines for creative reasons, you may request a variance from the Marketing Committee by sending the proposed design to marketing@atm.org.uk. In most cases, variances are only granted for use associated with conferences, events and some promotional items.

Do not skew the logo or use a low resolution where high resolution is required.
